We are seeking a Sr. Director of Product Engineering to lead our engineering efforts with a blend of technical prowess and exceptional leadership skills. This pivotal role requires someone who can navigate the complexities of directing cross-functional projects, embodying a spirit of decisiveness and high ownership. This is a fully remote position.

Primary duties

Leadership and Direction : Develop and execute a clear strategic vision for the product engineering department, aligning team efforts with the company's product goals and customer needs. This includes overseeing the creation and implementation of a technical roadmap, ensuring projects are prioritized based on impact and alignment with business objectives.

Team Management and Development : Directly manage a team of 3-5 engineering managers, fostering an environment of high autonomy and ownership. Focus on recruiting, mentoring, and retaining top-tier engineering talent, creating growth opportunities that align with individual career aspirations and the company's objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration : Lead cross-functional projects that require coordination between engineering, product, design, and other departments. Ensure seamless communication and collaboration, driving projects to successful completion with a focus on delivering customer value.

Process and System Optimizatio n: Design and implement efficient systems and processes to manage consistent product delivery and high performance across the engineering team. Use these systems not for perfection but as tools to achieve great outcomes, focusing on adaptability and continuous improvement.

Technical Advocacy and Decision-Making : Advocate for necessary technical work that supports the product's growth and stability, balancing this with the need to continuously deliver customer value. Make decisive, informed decisions in ambiguous situations, guiding the team through technical challenges and ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.
