POSITION OVERVIEW: As the Sales Manager you are responsible for managing the group sales to maximize revenue and achieve sales targets. You play a crucial role in driving business growth and developing strong relationships with clients and partners. You maintain communications across all departments to ensure smooth execution of groups and events. All tasks and interactions are done in a way that upholds the company’s mission, vision, and values.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager or in a similar role within the hospitality industry
  • Knowledge of corporate meeting planning, event planning and hotel food & beverage business
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Strong knowledge of the market and a network of contacts within the industry
  • Attention to detail, sense of urgency and ability to manage internal & external deadlines
  • Competency with Maestro or similar PMS
  • Proficiency in using sales management software and programs
  • Must be able to prioritize work load while remaining thorough and efficient
  • Ability to work comprehensively with spreadsheets and budgeting packages
  • After-hours networking and occasional weekends may apply.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, meeting planners, event planners and other potential revenue sources to secure group business that will fit within the parameters of the business model of the resort.
  • Conduct client visits and site tours to secure new business and maintain existing accounts
  • Act as primary point of contact for clients, conduct pre and post event meetings, and provide exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction and loyalty
  • Develop pricing strategies, packages and promotions to maximize revenue and market penetration
  • Collaborate with Executive Chef, Rooms Manager, FOH Manager, and General Manager to develop programs and offerings to promote to existing and prospective accounts/corporations.
  • Work closely with Catering Sales Manager in group planning and overall event management once a contract has been finalized.
  • Maintain awareness of planning stages of events with Catering Sales Manager as needed
  • Use creative thinking for space management, themed events and budget management to maximize group bookings and revenue
  • Ensure room rates committed are competitive and offer highest yield for the hotel to ensure maximum profitability.
  • Partner with marketing to mine for business, target prospective markets, and incorporate social media tools in to marketing efforts
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to enhance the Inn’s visibility and generate leads
  • Attend all scheduled meetings on site including weekly BEO meetings
  • Prepare contracts and complete data entry of membership & prospect lists for marketing efforts
  • Oversee and confirm billing of groups upon conclusion of programs.
  • Update & oversee weekly PACE Reporting.
  • Provide monthly reports.
  • Understand sales department budget and manage it on a continual basis, including production of forecasted and actual group room and catering revenues.
  • Oversee Service Charge Reporting, ensuring accurate and prompt reporting to the Accounting Department.
  • Maintain proper and complete files on all accounts in applicable database system and paper files.
  • Other duties as requested and assigned by your manager

PAY RANGE
$25.00 - $30.00/hr plus incentives
