POSITION OVERVIEW: As the Equipment Manager you will oversee a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for the golf course assets. This includes diagnostics, preventive maintenance and repairs performed on a variety of gasoline and diesel power equipment. You ensure that all equipment is kept in efficient and operable condition. All tasks and interactions are done in a way that upholds the company’s mission, vision, and values.

COURSE INFORMATION

The Port Ludlow Golf Course was designed by Architect Robert Muir Graves. It is an 18-hole course that sits in the hills of Port Ludlow overlooking the Puget Sound on the Olympic Peninsula. Partially built on rock and peat bogs, it has its challenges for water retention and holding. Fairways are lined with spruce, fir, and cedar trees. The driving range consists of 3 tiers of tee green, a putting green, chipping green, and a small bunker green.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of a vocational technical school or post-secondary training in small engine repair or mechanics preferred
  • Strong mechanical skills with thorough knowledge of golf course equipment, hydraulic and electric systems, and gasoline and diesel engine operation
  • 3-6 years of experience and/or training in working with small engine repair and/or turf equipment
  • Working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment and automotive apparatus
  • Skilled in the use of a wide variety of equipment repair tools and making of various types of mechanical repairs
  • Ability to diagnose mechanic troubles and determine appropriate maintenance work
  • Ability communicate effectively and keep appropriate and accurate records
  • Valid Washington state drivers’ license
  • Able to lift 50 pounds or more regularly
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Ability to work weekends when needed

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform diagnosis and repair on broken or failing equipment
  • Perform activities such as reel sharpening, back lapping and reel adjustments
  • Maintain a comprehensive maintenance program on all equipment to ensure long life and proper operation
  • Complete oil and filter changes at manufacturers recommended intervals. Tune-ups, greasing, daily inspections and spot checks of equipment for performance on the golf course
  • Follow all OSHA regulations and standards of operation
  • Direct the servicing of equipment by staff members, to ensure usage and wash-off procedures are being followed.
  • Assist in training new employees on the proper use, operation, and care of equipment
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining an inventory of repair parts and replacement supplies needed for equipment
  • Keep records of parts and labor needed for maintaining each piece of equipment
  • Maintain records of all repairs and scheduled maintenance for equipment including the golf cart fleet
  • Assist team members in performing mowing operations and other course maintenance activities as time allows or during peak times
  • Keep shop area and tools organized and cleaned daily
  • Other duties as requested and assigned by your manager

PAY RANGE:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour DOE
