POSITION SCOPE:

Great Circle Catering is hiring for an Event Lead. The Event Lead will lead a team of servers, delegate tasks and oversee all catering and staffing aspect for events. Great Circle is an offsite catering company that specializes in both corporate and social events. Event season begins in May through November with extensive weekend availability needed along with some week night availability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for successfully executing social and corporate offsite events as an Event Lead
• Will report and work closely with the sales team to review and detail events and information
• Regularly checking light emails to stay current with event information and to receive event paperwork
• Is responsible for leading a team of staff members from load in, through entire event and unpack at the end of event
• Begin shift with an “Event Overview” which will inform servers of their duties, tasks and a brief timeline of the event along with any important details
• Ensures all items necessary are loaded and packed in company vans for offsite events
• Comfortable delegating tasks to staff members and leading staff throughout event
• Reports to kitchen staff throughout the event for successful execution and ensure staying to the planned timeline
• Experience reading a BEO and knowledge of how to follow and set up a floor plan
• General Knowledge of catering equipment
• Will act as main point of contact for client during event
• Checks in and out with clients upon arrival and departure
• Oversees any unnecessary unpacking from event back at our location
• Responsible for overseeing company vehicles and/or food trucks
• Complete End of Event Worksheet upon ending of each event to be shared with sales team.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Must have weekend availability
• 2-5 years’ experience in events
• Must be able to multitask and make quick decisions
• Driver’s license and comfortability driving all catering cars and vans
• Must be able to pass background and drug screens

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Flexibility in working varied shifts, early morning and evening
