Poetry Inn is Hiring a Front Desk - Innkeeper Near Napa, CA

Poetry Inn is a small luxury Napa Valley hotel perched on a hillside Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard in the Stags Leap District. Beyond its gated drive, guests experience the ultimate in privacy, serenity, and world-class hospitality with unparalleled Napa Valley views.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and responsible person to join our hospitality team. The full-time position is 40 hours per week, and includes both weekday and weekend shifts. The part time role is 16-24 hours per week.
Summary:
Self-motivation, a warm & welcoming demeanor and well-organized work habits are key attributes for success in this position. It is essential to have the ability to remain attentive to and meet the needs of our guests, while consistently performing the regularly scheduled guest related duties.
Our Innkeepers oversee and coordinate daily operations of our luxury inn and ensure a high standard in the guest experience. The ideal candidate will be positive, energetic, and knowledgeable of both the inn operations and Napa Valley as a whole. A focus on excellent customer service and the ability to provide an exceptional hospitality is a must.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Clearly communicate with guests throughout pre-arrival, and post departure communication.
Receive and correctly process all guest check-ins, check-outs, room assignments, and room change/late check-out requests in PMS system.
Anticipates and assesses guests' needs and responds in a courteous and professional manner.
Actively creates itineraries for guests including winery visits, restaurants and other activities.
Coordinate with Housekeeping to track room status and guest concerns.
Run and check daily reports, contingency lists, and credit card authorization reports. Supply guests with directions and information.
Answer, record, and process all guest calls, requests, questions, or concerns; follow up to confirm that each has been met to guests’ satisfaction.
Arrange transportation for guests.
Process all payment types, vouchers, charges, and provide change.
Notify supervisor of any guest challenges utilizing: LEARN.
Perform and document periodic inspections of the building and grounds for safety issues, physical appearance, and maintenance conditions to supervisor.
Operate and monitor washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery, including adding chemicals and cleaning lint traps.
Prepare food and beverage items, distribute pre-packaged and prepared food items, and deliver orders to tables as needed.
Follow company policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
Speak using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of employees.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in hospitality, preferably luxury market. Commitment to excellence and a high standard of service.
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Experience in Food & Beverage service.
Warm, refined, and hospitable attitude.
Excellent communication skills: written and oral.
In depth knowledge of wineries and various types of cuisine.
Highly developed interpersonal skills.
Ability to understand and execute all safety requirements and cautions.
Ability to work on your feet for an extended period.
Ability to Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
Available to work variety of hours, days and shifts specially in the weekends and holidays.
Food SERV certification preferred.
