Yara, our rooftop lounge, where you will have the opportunity to create a fresh traditional comforting iconic food paradise as you take Latin cuisine beverages to new heights. We are looking for an observant, efficient Barback who can work with other staff members to ensure that our customers receive prompt, seamless service.

The Washington Marriott Capitol Hill, located in the trendy NoMa district, introduces modern luxury and distinguished hospitality unmatched in Washington, D.C.

RESPONSIBILITIES AUTHORITIES:

• Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare table for resetting. Promptly and consistently reset all service ware as prescribed.
• Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment including silverware, linen and condiments.
• Serve guests with beverages, breads and butter to begin their dining experience and replenish as necessary.
• Transport all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
• Maintains high knowledge regarding company's products and happenings events.
• Effectively communicates such to guests.
• Documents inventory use, spills, and waste accordingly Stocks refrigerating units with wines, beer, etc. 
• Monitors coolers for proper temperature. Reports deficiencies to management in a timely manner
• Maintains adequate supply of ice to all bars.
• Empties trash cans at the bars on a regular basis. Ensures all trash cans at the bars are cleaned and lined with garbage bags.
• Cleans and stocks the supply room where all bar products are stored.
• Notifies manager/supervisor of low inventory and recommends new inventory. Assists bartenders with cleaning and breakdown of the bars at the end of each shift.
• Completes all opening, running, and closing duties as assigned.
• Assists in training new employees within the department in accordance with company standards.

QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS

• Previous experience in a restaurant setting is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work at a fast pace and ability to complete routine duties efficiently and on a consistent basis.
• Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, transport up to 50 lbs. through a crowded room.
• Ability to move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 150 lbs.
