We are looking for a reliable Logistics Manager to be responsible for the overall supply chain management. Your responsibilities will include organizing and monitoring storage and distribution of goods - The goal is to manage the entire order cycle so as to enhance business development and ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction.

Summary of Job Essentials 

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Logistics Manger ensures that products and inventories move from one place to another efficiently and cost-effectively. Logistics and supply chain management is a key responsibility of the Logistics Manager, working to plan, control, and implement the storage and flow of products, materials, and information for the hotel and all retail stores. This person is expected to develop, and propose improvements to distribution procedures, and is responsible for ensuring timeliness and accountability. Responsibilities include the tracking of all items in and out of the Loading Dock area, and to ensure all proper documentation is completed in compliance with procedures. The Manager must be able to implement directives from upper management and have the ability to provide logistical support to all the departments within the hotel and retail.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Shipping and Receiving

  • Responsible for the creation of all documentation (including packing slips) related to specific delivery or shipment requirements.
  • Receives and appropriately documents incoming merchandise, promotional items.
  • Maintaining a notebook/tracking reports, documents any shortages or damages, and reports these to the supervisor.
  • Records all UPS, DHL or FedEx incoming or outgoing packages for all departments.
  • Responsible for receiving, stocking, distributing and packing items in addition to inventory control.
  • Controlling access to and from the building (Associates and Vendors only).
  • Controlling unauthorized vehicles.

Inventory Control

  • Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle for the hotel and all retails stores
  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
  • Responsible for counting items received or shipped, checking them against packing lists, recording any discrepancies, and reporting those to the supervisor.
  • Inventory and track propane usage and ensure propane tanks are replenished a timely manner.
  • Instruct suppliers to store items in designated areas.
  • Will be required to contact department to receive their goods.

Loading Dock Maintenance

  • Responsible for cleanliness of the loading dock areas.
  • Check to ensure that all equipment in the loading dock is functioning properly on a daily basis (loading dock and overhead door, barriers/barricades and lift gates).
  • Responsible for ensuring empty pallets are removed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for having cardboard bales, scrap metal and other recyclables picked up. Must record all information (number of pallets, weight of bale & metal, etc.) and provide to supervisor.
  • Responsible for contacting vendors for trash pickups.
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • BS in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain
  • Proven working experience as a Logistics Manager
  • Record of successful distribution and logistics management
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions:

  • Must have operational knowledge of shipping & receiving equipment.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Ability to work independently and establish/manage priorities is a must.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Maintains data integrity and ensures all data and reports are accurate and timely.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Access. (Must)
  • Ability to deal with difficult, complex, or sensitive issues
  • May be required to work on weekends, and evenings may be required.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Associate will be subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme heat, extreme cold, noise, hazards and atmospheric conditions (fumes, odor, dust, mists, gases or poor ventilation). While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb up/down stairs. The associate is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Job requires frequent use of heavy equipment including forklifts, Tug carts/trailers, and pallet jacks.

Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times and communicate well with others. Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.

During major service hours it is expected to have the position expedite in front of the line and be visible to the guests in the dining room.
