Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs and providing detailed estimates for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of construction management, project management, and cost control.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine project scope and estimate costs
- Utilize software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and identify potential challenges or opportunities
- Research and analyze historical data, market trends, and industry standards to ensure accurate pricing
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that include detailed breakdowns of labor, materials, equipment, and other project costs
- Review contracts and negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers
- Monitor project budgets throughout the construction process to ensure cost control
- Provide ongoing support to project teams by assisting with value engineering options and cost-saving strategies
Experience:
- Proven experience in construction estimating or related field
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam
- Familiarity with project management methodologies
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
