MEP Estimator

Our client is seeking an experienced MEP Estimator who is attentive to detail and driven to succeed to join their team. Our client is an established in Louisville construction company who has a strong reputation for quality and who is dedicated to continuously demonstrating integrity.

MEP Estimator Responsibilities:

• Estimate labor for self-perform work such as carpentry, casework, and concrete.
• Mentoring other estimators as appropriate.
• Performing quantity take-offs, pricing, scoping, and bidding of construction projects.
• Soliciting and developing relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Pricing subcontractor, supplier, and self-performed scopes of work.
• Assessing site exposures/construction risks to appropriately analyze, cost and reflect these in an estimate.
• Assisting in material selection, bid strategy, and estimate presentation.
• Identifying constructibility issues through the estimating process, including coordination between drawing sets.
• Identifying value-engineering alternatives.
• Leading the project team through the estimating process on select projects.
• Responsible for preliminary contract and final estimates.
• Ensure that estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings are accurate.
• Reviewing estimates with project managers, superintendents, and other estimators.
• Tracking and documenting historical data for future use.

MEP Estimator Requirements:

• B.S., in Construction Management or related field, degree may substitute 4 years of experience.
• Conceptual estimating experience preferred.
• Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products, Estimating software and subcontractor outreach and document control systems.
• Exhibits strong leadership qualities.
• 5 years of experience in Estimating/Pre-construction
• 5 years of ground-up commercial construction experience for large projects in excess of $20M.
