Financial Controller

A Noblesville construction firm is seeking a financial Controller to join their team.

Financial Controller Duties:

  • Oversees and produces all accounting functions including cash and investment accounts.
  • Billings, collections, banking, and monthly and reconciling all banking statements.
  • Cutting checks as needed.
  • Able to read and understand AIA contracts and billings.
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
  • Oversees the preparation of required Federal and State payroll reports as well as financial and related reports to the COO and President.
  • Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
  • Provides financial analysis to assist management.
  • Provides reports and presents at quarterly investment meeting with external investors
  • Monthly project WIP review
  • Attendance to all scheduled financial meetings.
  • Responsible for training operations on all accounting software.
  • Ensure all employees comply with internal policies on authorization.
  • Hold direct reports accountable for meeting their goals.
  • Annual insurance renewal both property and casualty, and employee health insurance benefits.

Financial Controller Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
  • Minimum of 5 years or more of related experience required.
  • Job cost / construction industry background is a plus.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Demonstrated understand of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control principles including generally accepted account principles.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Team player, works well in a group setting.
  • Tech savvy in learning new software.
  • Proven management and supervisory skills; ability to build an effective and efficient accounting team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
