Job Description:

The Tax Intern works in the Accounting department and also closely with Treasury. The intern will be responsible for creating documentation of taxation procedures and handling the administration of tax and other government related matters. The company currently does not have an internal tax accountant so this position should offer a unique internship experience. This role will be expected to work closely with the Corporate Controller and the VP of Finance.

Responsibilities:

• Develop financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure efficient and effective management of the firm's tax situation.
• As a part of your daily tasks, you will perform administrative duties to include creating and editing documents, maintaining spreadsheets, and analyzing basic data.
• Will be responsible for working with the external auditors on tax related matters and preparing tax returns, conducting research on tax matters, managing data, and completing other government related activities.
• Identification, research, and assessment of domestic tax matters.

Qualifications

Skills and Requirements:

• Junior, Senior, or Master’s student actively pursuing a BS/BA/Masters in Accounting/Finance/Taxation or related field.
• Demonstrated success in coursework as measured by a 3.0 GPA or higher in major courses.
• Excellent communication skills, able to partner with both Accounting and Finance.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities.
