Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts is Hiring a Payroll and Benefits Specialist Near Boston, MA

The mission of Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts (PPLM) is to ensure every person in the state has access to sexual and reproductive health care and education no matter who they are, where they live, or who they love. We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and enthusiastic individual to help us with this mission!

The Payroll and Benefits Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of payroll, time & attendance, benefits systems, and related client services, including recordkeeping and reporting. This person collaborates with Human Resources and Finance staff to support and achieve Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts’ (PPLM) strategic goals. The Payroll & Benefits Specialist meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and attending and actively participating in meetings. This position provides training to staff on the payroll and time and attendance system, as well as our benefits offerings.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implements, maintains, processes and reviews bi-weekly payroll ensuring timely and accurate payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, union, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to positions and pay rates.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
  • Solid understanding of ACA requirements ensuring accurate completion of 1094 and 1095
  • Responding to ADP questions which may include timecard and manager approval problems in a timely manner.
  • Administer various employee benefit programs such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, life insurance, 403(b).
  • Participate in new hire onboarding by providing a comprehensive overview of PPLM’s benefits offerings.
  • Provide ADP end user training to new hires.
  • Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies. Resolve administrative problems with various carriers.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, auditing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Excellent knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
  • 3 or more years of payroll and benefits experience including a high comfort level working with ADP Work Force Now (WFN).
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to enhance processes for efficient execution.
  • Proven history of setting high standards of productivity and delivery results.
  • Possess effective communications skills. Be able to relate to people with an approachable, friendly demeanor.
  • Responsibility for protecting highly confidential information and establishing an environment of integrity and trust.
  • Demonstration of a positive attitude, a sense of ownership, and a commitment to customer service and employee satisfaction.
  • A sense of urgency with regard to finding resolutions and responding to requests.
  • Motivatedself-starterwiththeabilitytoworkaspartofateam,developandfollow-throughonideas, and lead staff.

$65,000 - $80,000 a year

Health and Dental Insurance
PPLM contributes substantially to the cost of HMO coverage and provides access to both vision and dental plans for Full-time and Core Part-time employees. Employee contributions are made on a pre-tax basis.
Paid Time Off
PPLM offers a generous and flexible time off system for Full-time and Core Part-time employees. The program includes vacation time, provisions for extended sick leave, and provides time off for most major holidays.
Retirement Savings Plan
PPLM offers a voluntary 403(b) Tax Deferred Annuity Plan available to all employees. PPLM will match up to 3% of Full-time and Core Part-time employees' wages to the 403(b) following one year of employment.
Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance, and Long Term Disability Insurance
PPLM pays the full cost of this coverage for Full-time and Core Part-time employees. Life/AD&D insurance policy is equal to 1 time annual salary to the maximum of $200,000. Long Term Disability Insurance is paid after 13 weeks out at 60% of monthly income up to $10,000 a month.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
Reimbursement plans that enable employees to pay for un-reimbursed medical and/or dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars.
Paid Parental Leave
PPLM offers partial paid paternal leave for Full-time and Core Part-time staff after one year of employment.
PPLM also offers benefits such discounted parking, MBTA pass discounts, discounted movie tickets, discounted health and fitness memberships, and access to PPLM health services at discounted rates.
