Pineapple School Group is Hiring an Assistant Infant Teacher 12pm-6:15pm (Spanish-fluent) Near San Antonio, TX

A fun and rewarding full-time job for a passionate teacher who speaks fluent spanish.

We are a small, family-owned business located in San Antonio, Texas. We may be biased, but we are pretty sure we have the best Early Childhood Centers around. They are Spanish Immersion schools, which means that, from the moment the children enter the building, they are immersed in the Spanish language and culture of Latin America. We really believe that we are making a BIG impact on the future citizens of San Antonio.

We are looking for candidates who truly enjoy and appreciate young children and have good verbal and written communication skills in Spanish. There are great opportunities for growth within the school for professional candidates who are looking for a life-time career in teaching.

A few perks:

  • We offer a 401K with company matching. An opportunity to start saving for your future? Yes, please!
  • The work is fun and fast-paced. You will be working directly with our administrative team members, helping them to run one of our schools. You will have the opportunity to acquire new skills and, if you’re interested, become an administrator one day yourself.
  • Free food. All employees are welcome to eat lunch on the house. Our kitchen staff prepares a delicious, home-cooked meal every day for the children and staff. Most of the meals are “Latino”, like picadillo, caldo de pollo, and albondigas. Our Enchiladas are the crowd favorite!
  • You don’t need to be skilled at dancing, karaoke, or Pictionary, but you will likely be doing all of those things. Every month, we do something fun as a team. We’re a family and we’ll celebrate just about anything, from Día de los Reyes to International Friendship Day to National Sandwich Day!

We love to celebrate with the children, too! Picture colorful and lively Latino-inspired events to celebrate Rodeo, Fiesta San Antonio, Día de los Muertos, and more!

Duties will consist of:

  • Working Monday through Friday from 12:00pm to 6:15pm (30 hours per week);
  • Interacting with children in the Spanish language, encouraging their development and exposing them to songs, finger plays, music and dance in Spanish;
  • Engaging children in a playful and safe learning environment both indoors and outdoors (outdoor playtime consists of two scheduled 45-minute periods each day);
  • Assisting children with personal hygiene, including diaper changing and potty training or cleaning a child and helping him/her to change clothes in the event of an accident;
  • Utilizing Conscious Discipline strategies to promote cooperation, constructive problem solving and academic success in the classroom;
  • Helping to maintain classroom records, cleanliness, and orderliness;
  • Helping to maintain a safe and clean environment inside and outside the classroom, in compliance with Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers and current policies of The Pineapple School (this includes taking out the trash; proper sanitizing of tables, counters, bathrooms, and toys; and organizing drawers, cabinets and shelves);
  • Interacting with parents on a daily basis, regularly reporting positive observations of each child;
  • Attending staff meetings, training events and workshops, including a monthly staff meeting in the evening.
  • 100% fluent in Spanish, verbally and written; Proficient in English
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Child Development Associates or Bachelor’s in Education a plus
  • At least one year experience working in a classroom of young children
  • Stability, intelligence and professionalism
  • Raised in or otherwise have extensive experience living in a Spanish speaking culture outside of the United States, typically either in Mexico and/or Central and South America (preferred)
