Pine Street Inn is Hiring a DEI Recruiting Specialist Near Boston, MA

SCHEDULE: 40 hours, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Flexibility required and based upon program needs. Expected to work some holidays and weekends)

Pays $25.12 per hour DOE

LOCATION: 434 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The DEI Recruiting Specialist will report to the Director of Talent Acquisition while closely collaborating with the Senior Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Recruiting Specialist will play a pivotal role in advancing our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through strategic recruitment initiatives. This role will focus on attracting, engaging, and retaining a diverse talent pool while ensuring equitable hiring practices across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities include strategizing and implementing recruitment initiatives that prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion goals, identifying recruitment opportunities on behalf of talent acquisition, including job fairs (in-person and virtual), and methods of community outreach. Collaborating with the Senior Director of DEI, they contribute insights and recommendations to enhance overall diversity initiatives and promote an inclusive workplace culture. This role demands a deep understanding of DEI principles, recruitment best practices, and effective communication and collaboration skills to drive meaningful change within the organization.

  • Strategic Recruitment Planning: Collaborate with hiring managers and HR to develop and implement recruitment strategies that prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion goals
  • Diversity Partnerships: Cultivate relationships with diversity organizations, educational institutions, and community groups to enhance our recruitment efforts and build a diverse talent pipeline.
  • Internal Partnership: partner with Director of Talent Acquisition to develop new strategies and resources to recruit underrepresented talent
  • Recruiting: Will be responsible for sourcing and recruiting for positions as assigned by the Director of Talent Acquisition
  • Marketing: On behalf of the Senior Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, will coordinate with marketing the development of DEI content for our intranet and other platforms and represent the Company in external DEI forums, conferences, and events.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum three years of directly related experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of diversity recruitment best practices, employment laws, and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Commitment to continuous learning and development in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Extensive knowledge of effective strategies designed to advance DEI in the workplace.
  • Collegial, compassionate, and consultative approach with the ability to gracefully navigate different points of view and facilitate productive discussions.
  • Adept at balancing strategic thinking, operational execution, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
