Pig & Khao - Upper West Side is Hiring a Chef de Cuisine Near New York, NY
Pig and Khao is hiring a Chef de Cusine! Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:- Managing a staff of 10 to 15 cooks- Hiring and training BOH staff- Ordering and maintaining food costs- Creating prep lists for the staff- Working with Chef Leah Cohen create specials and new menu items- Expediting- Maintaining professional standards- Working clean, efficiently, and with respect for ingredients- Ensure that all dishes are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant's recipes, portioning, cooking and service standards- Keeping equipment clean and in excellent working condition- Maintaining a positive work environment via effective, professional communication with other employees and managersRequirements:- Experience working in a professional kitchen as a Sous Chef for a minimum of 2 year- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, procedures and equipment- Ability to think quickly and multi-task in a fast paced environment- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
