Chef Leah Cohen's Pig and Khao serves Southeast Asian cuisine in a fast-paced, downtown setting. Since opening in 2012, Pig and Khao has been awarded 2 stars by the New York Times and named Best Asian Restaurant NYC for 2016 by Zagat.Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Attendance and timeliness- Ensuring that all dishes are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant's recipes, portioning, cooking and service standards- Keeping equipment clean and in excellent working condition- Maintaining a positive, work environment via effective, professional communication with other employees and managersRequirements: - Experience working in a professional kitchen in NYC- Knife skills and general knowledge of cooking techniques- Friendly, outgoing, energetic team player with a positive attitude- Ability to think quickly and multi-task in a fast paced environment- Ability to communicate effectively- Ability to take direction and execute- Must work nights and/or weekends.- Culinary certificate or degree a plus.
- Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours and lift up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to arrive on time and work a full shift, including station breakdown
