High Tech global manufacturing and engineering company with locations near 495/Marlborough area has an immediate opening for a Business Development Manager for Space and Defense industry. This is full time regular position with great benefits. 

The successful applicant for this role will need to be able to travel to Auburn MA a minimum of 1-2 days per week for the next year while the company executes a move to Marlborough. 

Description & Key Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate the development of PI’s space and defense division. Build professional relationships with new and existing customers, clients, suppliers and stakeholders to generate new business opportunities for PI in the space and defense industries. Duties include the following:

• ·Developing and directing the organizational strategic plan to advance PI’s space and defense applications. (SWOT)
• ·Travel to execute strategic engagements with industry partners.
• ·Conducting strategic engagements with members of the DoD and IC. Specifically, the Space Systems Command (SSC), Space Development Agency (SDA), Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).
• ·Prepare proposals and recommendations as well as providing business presentations to company leadership, stakeholders and clients.
• ·Author timely responses to government and industry partner requests for information, requests for proposal, and other customer technical and business communications.
• ·Coordinate space and defense efforts with PI’s contract administrator, engineers and legal team.
• ·Ability to communicate with mechanical and electrical engineers about PI products

Tasks: 

• Administer assigned contracts to include but not limited to contract modifications, ensuring compliance with customer PO requirements, proposal preparation, and contract negotiation with existing or prospective clients.
• Support RFPs; understand the proposals including engineering changes; support negotiation and define activities and identify priorities on each program.
• Adhere to contract policies, procedures, methods, operating practices, and performance standards for areas of responsibility.
• Serve as a liaison with functional managers and customers regarding contracting issues, secure approvals and ensure successful contract execution.
• Develop or review prime contract and subcontractor flow down documents to ensure compliance with prime contract requirements and to minimize company liability.
• Observe and support in preparation of negotiations, drafting required contract administration documentation etc.
• Generate and maintain contract documentation.
• Review purchase orders.
• Assist in ensuring contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company polices, legal requirements, customer specifications, FAR and DFAR.

Required Education & Experience:

• ·U.S. Citizenship.
• ·Eligible to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance.
• ·Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Science or Mathematics or equivalent technical experience.
• ·5 years of project management experience.
• ·Familiarity with the space and defense industries.
• ·Experience with applications of the electromagnetic spectrum, space systems and satellite operations.
• ·Bachelors in a Technical Discipline, preferably engineering
• ·Experience in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
• ·Willingness to complete a pre-employment drug screen.
