Phoenix Contact is Hiring a Quality Specialist Near Harrisburg, PA

Job Summary

This position is the focal point for product quality standards, which includes establishing quality metrics for all machines and processes, developing measurement techniques, and reporting performance, in addition to identifying product or process improvements that will lead to better products and/or lower costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish quality metrics for all machines and processes. Develop measurement techniques, track, and report performance.
  • Lead Quality Circles and establish road map for process improvements.
  • Focal point for Product Quality standards and product disposition.
  • Manage the RBU’s ISO documentation, record keeping, and compliance
  • Coordinate the RBU’s lean initiatives.
  • Help Production Supervisors, Technicians, and Production Personnel develop in process inspection procedures; help them choose inspection equipment; and train operators to collect and analyze their own data.
  • Work with BU and Harrisburg based quality assurance departments to resolve quality, customer complaint, and returned goods issues
  • Work with the Harrisburg product change coordinator to manage changes to Interface RBU produced products
  • Report on quality metrics to Manufacturing Operations Manager, RBU Manager, and BU quality management
  • Focus on increasing productivity in all activities

Must Have Qualifications

  • Engineering degree, or Professional Engineering certification with 3 years’ experience in a Manufacturing and/or Quality Assurance role.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • General computer knowledge, and efficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with others.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to collaborate with others, build relationships, and involve others in decision making.
  • Demonstrates the ability to deliver results by solving or supporting others in solving problems, prioritizing tasks and/or resources, and focusing on outcomes.
  • Demonstrates self-awareness and the willingness to learn and grow, accept changes, and effectively adapt to changing work demands.

Essential Job Functions

  • Able to use computer for four hours at a time without break.
  • Able to use pallet jack with 300 pounds.
  • Able to work 6 day week, if required.
  • Able to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd or spread hours between these two shifts.
  • Able to accommodate occasional travel overseas for up to 7 working days at a time.
  • Able to drive or fly to distant supplier, customer, or training session and stay overnight for periods of up to a week.
  • Must be able to lift or move containers weighing up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
  • Attendance in accordance with company policies.
