Job Summary

The Project Manager will be responsible for planning and overseeing projects within the Automation Infrastructure, working with individual(s) and/or group(s) across Phoenix Contact as appropriate. Success will be characterized by, but not limited to, delivery of projects that are on time, within budget, and within scope, meeting project objectives and helping the organization realize project benefits, effective communication and organization of concurrent activities, collaboration across multiple teams, and alignment with corporate processes and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Defines project resource requirements, both internal and third party.
• Outlines project budgets based on requirements and tracks costs to deliver projects on budget.
• Prepares detailed project plans to schedule key project milestones, workstreams, and activities.
• Tracks projects and provides regular status reports to project teams and key stakeholders.
• Manages and adjusts baselines for any changes in project scope, schedule, and/or budget.
• Identifies and mitigates project risks.
• Manages relationships and communications with clients and/or stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered to the satisfaction of these groups. • Maintains pertinent project documentation (including but not limited to):
  • Risk lists, mitigation, and contingency plans
  • Mandatory documentation for Phoenix Contact Stage Gate Process
  • Profitability Analyses for project

Must-Have Qualifications

• Experience with product development, stage-gate process, V-Model
• A 4-year college degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), or the ability to achieve certification within first year.
• Demonstrated ability to work with remote teams, with the flexibility to adapt to diverse cultures, time zones, and related factors.
• Excellent presentation and business communication abilities.
• Professional attitude and well organized.
• Self-starting, self-motivated, self-confident individual, open to taking on challenges and finding ways to succeed.
• Proficient with Windows based office applications and project management tools.
• Excellent people skills, easy to work with, and the ability to motivate others.
• Demonstrates leadership qualities.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Essential Job Functions

• Must be able to travel domestically and overseas for extended periods if required.

  • Must be able to ride in a car for an extended time
• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
• Must be able to communicate in English (written & verbal)
