JOB OVERVIEW:

The Joseph J. Peters Institute (JJPI) is a nationally recognized provider serving children, adolescents, and adult survivors of trauma as well as individuals who engage in problematic sexual behavior and/or intimate partner violence. We are seeking a full-time Forensic Outpatient Clinician for our Adult and Youth Safety and Responsibility Programs (SRP). The Forensic OP Clinician carries a full caseload, including both individual and group therapy, and will do evaluations/screenings as needed. Preference will be awarded to candidates who have experience working with adults who have engaged in sexually offensive behaviors and/or intimate partner violence. This candidate must be committed to providing the highest quality clinical services to participants in JJPI’s programs. This position reports to the Coordinator of Youth PSB Programs.

JJPI aims to be a supportive work environment and provide opportunities for clinical supervision and consultation. In many circumstances, JJPI supervisors can provide supervision towards LPC, LCSW, and psychology licensure. JJPI also supports our staff to be trained in evidence-based practices and to receive ongoing supervision from a JJPI supervisor.

This position comes with a sign-on bonus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain the highest quality clinical services to all clients of JJPI.
  • Maintain a full caseload and work on program development to support and improve the financial health of the agency.
  • Develop and maintain 27 billable hours weekly, on average.
  • Conduct individual and/or group therapy sessions for adults with a history of problematic sexual behaviors and/or relational violence.
  • Conduct psychosexual evaluations/screeners as clinically needed.
  • Attend group consultations and individual supervision on a weekly basis.
  • Provide supervisors with audio or videotaped samples of sessions as requested.
  • Adhere to all organizational procedures regarding clinical documentation:
  • Complete the Initial Resiliency Plan Review within the first two visits with the client.
  • Complete updated resiliency plans every 6 months or as clinically indicated.
  • Complete progress notes within 24 hours of each individual session and within 72 hours of each group session.
  • Complete a discharge summary within 48 hours of the termination date.
  • Complete and provide statistical reports (case management and clinical hours) at the end of each week/pay period.
  • Follow up appropriately with participants (and probation/parole) who have missed a session and continue appropriate outreach.
  • Maintain compliance with guidelines and requirements of various funders.
  • Work effectively with other staff and contribute to the development of a team approach to treatment.
  • Seek out appropriate professional training.
  • Complete and submit utilization reports (case management and clinical hours) at the end of each week.
  • Support and take an active role in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) projects/movement at JJPI.
  • Participate in at least one JJPI-related committee (morale, decoration, work group, etc.).

SKILLS:

  • Ability to work effectively with other staff and contribute to the team approach to treatment
  • Ability to meet timelines
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Preferred: Training in risk assessment and evidenced-based/informed treatment and assessment for adults with problematic and abusive sexual behavior and adults who have engaged in intimate partner violence

EXPERIENCE:

  • Two years of relevant clinical work experience with a forensic adult population (can include internship/practicum experience)
  • Preferred: Experience working with adults with histories of problematic sexual behavior and intimate partner violence/domestic violence
  • Preferred: Experience in risk assessment

EDUCATION:

  • Master’s degree in a field related to clinical work from an accredited program
  • Relevant clinical licensure preferred (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.)
