Job Overview:

The Joseph J. Peters Institute, a nationally recognized provider serving perpetrators and survivors of sexual abuse. The Youth Safety and Responsibility Program (YSRP) serves adolescents with sexual behavioral problems. Preference awarded to individuals with experience treating adolescents with delinquency issues. This candidate must be committed to providing the highest quality clinical services to participants in JJP’s programs.

The Joseph J. Peters Institute seeks a fee-for-service clinician for the Youth Safety and Responsibility Program (YSRP). This person will perform Comprehensive Biopsychosocial Evaluations (CBEs) with intervention need assessment measures. This position also provides opportunity to facilitate group and individual therapy to individuals. This individual will also participate in weekly consultation groups. This person will be responsible for providing the highest quality clinical services to participants of JJPI’s Youth Safety and Responsibility Programs (YSRP). This person will report to the Coordinator of Youth PSB Programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide the highest quality clinical services to participants at the Joseph J. Peters Institute.
  • Develop and implement innovative techniques to serve the participants of JJPI more effectively.
  • Perform Comprehensive Biopsychosocial Evaluations (CBEs).
  • Participate in resiliency reviews and staffing for participants who are at an impasse in treatment or are ready for discharge.
  • Provide individual and/or group therapy to participants.
  • Responsible for assuring the clinical quality of evaluation reports and assuring timeliness of completion of reports (30 days for a final draft and 2 weeks for initial drafts).
  • Monitor and assure high utilization levels and effectiveness of clinical work completed by supervisees.
  • Provide evidenced-based treatment to participants.
  • Analyzes and integrates data gathered during evaluations to provide diagnostic conclusions and treatment recommendations.
  • Provides comprehensive written reports to guide treatment and to respond to referral sources.
  • Attends clinical meetings and scheduled supervisions.
  • Maintains clinical records in accordance with agency, managed care, and licensing requirements.
  • Seeks out appropriate professional training to meet licensing requirements.
  • Potential to get trained in selected agency EBP’s (e.g. PE and DBT).
  • Assists in developing and implementing new, innovative treatment strategies.
  • Develops and maintain professional relationships with other agencies.
  • Understand the impact of the caseload requirements on the financial performance of the agency.
  • Work with other staff to develop new treatment programs to promote the financial performance of the agency.
  • Promote the agency in interactions with other agencies and professionals.
  • Complete progress notes within 24 hours of individual session (or 72 hours of group session) with participant.
  • Complete updated resiliency plans every 6 months.
  • Complete discharge summary within 48 hours of termination date.
  • Follow up appropriately with participants and Probation when a participant misses a session.
  • Complete and provide statistical reports (case management and clinical hours) at the end of each week/pay period.
  • Provide CBEs and CBRs to participants in YSRP.
  • Provides MSE & Clinical Formulation for CBEs.
  • Attends Resiliency Reviews and Staffing when needed.

Skills:

  • Works effectively with other staff and contribute to the development of a team approach to treatment.
  • Provides input into new programs and work to implement more effective methods of delivering services.
  • Understands and communicates with other programs within the agency and work to foster a collaborative team approach across all programs.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining referral network.

Experience:

  • Two years of relevant clinical work experience specifically in the field of working adolescents (preferably with youth with sexual behaviors problems or youth involved in the criminal justice system), which can include internship/practicum experience.

Education Requirement:

  • A Masters or Doctoral Degree in a field related to clinical work.
  • Significant clinical experience Forensics, specifically those who have engaged in illegal sexual behaviors and those engaging in domestic and intimate partner violence.

Certification, License or Other Required Qualifications:

  • Possess a Master’s or Doctoral Degree from an accredited program.

Other Requirement:

  • COVID-19 Vaccination.

Commensurate with education and experience.
