Position Summary:
The Manager, Community Programs will leadership for all non-government programming, providing support to individual program coordinators as well as support team projects. The Manager will have ownership of implementation and streamlining of programs with the team. The Manager will have reflected best practices, relationship development, identifies streamlining and automation of program activity.
The Manager, Community Programs will be key in operationalizing pilots for new programs, collaborating with other food flow departments as needed. The Community Program Manager be responsible for mentoring new Coordinators, working with other teams, and potentially managing and developing interns and temporary help within the department as support to the Manager Community Programs. Special projects, special programs, and team support as needed can be leveraged from this role. This position will work closely with Community Partnerships team as well as Programs to support agencies in their participation in Philabundance programming.
- Ownership of key programs and the implementation of new or one-off programs will be managed and coordinated with Coordinators as well as other teams.
- Strong management of team development, succession planning, consistent performance, rewards, discipline, and training as required.
- Proven organizational and communication skills, guide a team with levels and provide senior leadership team with necessary information on an ongoing basis.
- Successful experience with problem solving and ability to stay nimble in an evolving environment.
- Provide process, knowledge and program support within the team, ability to provide support for gaps, overflow, vacations and escalations.
- Key contributor or owner of one-time or temporary distributions for member agencies and nonmember organizations.
- Reviews activity to provide input to develop, refine, and implement standard operating procedures for current programs as well as integrate new tools, new or different processes.
- Review, analyze and identify gaps and areas of improvements and efficiencies for current programs.
- Provide support and input on the development and implementation of new programs and department initiatives.
- Coordinator and provide support to food flow departments to ensure fast, safe, and efficient distributions to agencies.
- Provide agency support including training, consulting, and onsite assistance on a consistent basis.
- Manage and audit compliance levels with Community Partnerships team to ensure current and accurate tracking.
- Responsible for supporting and aligning with Philabundance Cultural pillars. Ensure communications, actions and interactions reflect a focus on People, Partnerships, Professionalism and Progress.
- High School Diploma or GED a plus. Additional formal education preferred.
- Serve Safe Certification preferred, must achieve within first 30 days of employment.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in administration or customer service within a cohesive effective team environment. Ideally in social services, hospitality, or logistics. 2 years dedicated leadership.
- Previous experience problem solving and researching to ensure high efficiencies and results tied to compliance and customer service.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to guide a team with levels and provide the executive team with necessary information on an ongoing basis.
- Experience owning results for a program or project within a collaborative workflow.
- Experience resolving, researching, and managing escalations, customer service issues.
- Previous experience managing logistics, customer satisfaction and customer experience aligned with compliance, contract requirements.
- Previous experience working with low-income or other transitioning community of people highly preferred. A robust knowledge of the issues facing people living at or near the poverty line, recovery, and reentry into the work force highly preferred.
