Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our hospital team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care, and possess a strong knowledge of veterinary procedures and practices. The ability to work well on a team, communicating effectively with multiple team members and clients is a requirement.

Duties:

- Assist veterinarians in routine examinations and surgical procedures
- Perform laboratory tests - Idexx labs
- Administer medications under the direction of veterinarians
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and treatment
- Utilize X-ray machines for diagnostic imaging
- Maintain cleanliness and sterility in treatment areas
- Provide post-operative care and monitoring
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration

Experience:

The ideal candidate should have experience or knowledge in the following areas:

- Veterinary terminology
- Animal husbandry
- Aseptic technique
- Animal care- IV placement, hospitalization
- Laboratory procedures
- X-Ray imaging
- Proper animal handling techniques
