- Support and develop school counseling departments at all secondary schools
- Connect resources to families and students
- Supervise School Social Workers
- Coordinate students in transition, McKinney-Vento work, and all related record keeping
- Coordinate the expulsion process
- Serve as corporation Title IX administrator
- Support Social and Emotional Learning K-12
- Coordinate attendance intervention / support / discussion
- Cultivate community partnerships to support students
- Seek grant opportunities to support students
- Support of students or staff in crisis events
- Coordinate the formal complaint process
- Facilitate the review and revision of the Student Rights and Responsibility Handbook
- Monitor student service related compliance- Anti-bullying, child abuse prevention, etc.
- Serve as District DCS Point Person
- Build the capacity of others around state and federal regulations related to students
- Create diversion and other programs to give schools options for student intervention
- Comprehensive understanding of the role of school counseling and school social work in supporting all students
- Ability to lead complex change processes, and to grow the perspective and capacity of others
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local regulations regarding McKinney-Vento and other programs to serve students
- Considerable knowledge of the County and School Board policies, procedures and standards regarding education
- Considerable knowledge of the ethical guidelines applicable to the position as outlined by professional organizations and/or federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations
- Skill in assisting, developing and supporting staff
- Ability to accurately interpret state and federal regulations and school policies
- Ability to effectively express ideas orally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments
- Indiana Educational Leadership License
- Masters Degree
- Previous school leadership experience preferred
