Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a seasoned Human Resources leader in support of our Strategic Innovation Group. This is both a strategic and hands-on role that partners with the Group President and VP of HR (Cyber Mission Sector and Strategic Innovation Group) in support of talent/workforce priorities within Peraton. The role is critical in executing our people initiatives, engaging with business leaders in the securing the talent necessary to deliver growth and execution of customer programs, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.Successful candidates will demonstrate and have responsibility for the following in an ever-evolving environment:

  • The ability to build trusted relationships with the sector leadership team and translate key talent priorities in support of business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in productivity and development of HR within the company
  • Proven ability to develop strategic relationships with your HR colleagues – you bring a point of view leveraging new ideas and/or past experiences to influence decisions.
  • You can identify root-cause issues quickly and uncover core issues using data, then lean in, consult with, and teach the business how decisions affect their sites and create new mechanisms as they are needed.
  • While this role leads a small team of HR Business Partners directly, a true hands-on approach is required to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement. Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment is highly valued.
  • Success in creating and driving effective development, employee relations, retention and reward programs.
  • Experience in developing and executing change management strategies to accelerate adoption of new technology, program and/or processes.
  • The ability to be comfortable with high volume workload and not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves"
  • A capacity to develop creative solutions that balance the needs of the business in concert with employee interests.
  • Identify and sponsor HR-wide professional development and engagement initiatives that support the future and strengthen the global HR community, such as inclusion and diversity initiatives.
  • Collaborative internal and external customer obsessed focus
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously - orientated on results
  • Actively recruit bar-raising talent, continuously develop your team, and constructively mentor the HR community
  • Bias for action, persistent work ethic, and desire to achieve excellence
  • Must be able to interface at all levels of the organization
  • Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities simultaneously - orientated on driving results.
  • This position will not be eligble for Peraton's 9/80 work schedule. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (or an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree)
  • 16 years of demonstrated experience as an HR practitioner with progressive HR generalist or business partner responsibilities, preferably in the government contracting industry.
  • Demonstrated background in employee relations including investigations and corrective practices, performance management, training and development, and staffing and retention required.
  • Approximately 10% travel required. Locations may include Basking Ridge, NJ, Silver Spring, MD, Reston, VA, St. Lous, MO .
  • Well versed in federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting HR.

Desired Qualifications

  • Post graduate degree or related certification is preferred (i.e. SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, etc.)
  • Active security clearance desired.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
