The CMO network manages core administrative responsibilities, including human resources,
finance, information technology, facilities, student recruitment, and marketing for our
schools. We serve 3,000 K-8 grade scholars across ten schools and employ over 450 staff
members.

OPPORTUNITY

The Director of Total Rewards & HRIS will be responsible for leading the development and
execution of the total rewards strategy to attract, retain, engage, and motivate employees. This
role is also focused on analyzing, maintaining, and troubleshooting human resource
information systems and other human resources computer applications and systems.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
● Develop comprehensive strategies for Total Rewards using compelling and equitable
benefits and reward and recognition programs aimed at attracting and retaining world-
class talent in a competitive environment and across multi-disciplines
● Execute the design, implementation, communication, and administration of the
company's total rewards programs; including benefits and employee wellness

● Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of our rewards programs to ensure they are
aligned with our network and talent strategies and monitor market trends to make
recommendations for changes, as appropriate
● Develop and implement recognition programs to drive employee engagement
and retention. Develop and deliver communication and training on total reward
programs.
● Lead the HRIS function charged with addressing technical HRIS issues from all
stakeholder groups. Partner with HR team members to lead and/or assist with the
delivery of projects including configuration changes and functionality deployment
(including, but not limited to: configuration; testing, documentation; peer review; sign-
off; training; and change management). Assist with testing and implementation of
system upgrades, resolve system issues, mass data uploads, and perform scheduled
activities.

● Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Breakthrough Public
Schools Ability to build cross-functional partnerships by demonstrating and
understanding organizational fundamentals and decision-making processes
● Proven ability to effectively collaborate with internal, cross-functional, and
external parties In-depth knowledge of total rewards practices, trends, and
regulations.
● Experienced managing change and able to implement new programs
effectively Ability to identify potential barriers to change and develop
strategies to overcome them. Knowledge of data systems and ability to
learn more complex data operations Ability to create and/or run reports
from HRMS/HRIS systems
● Understanding of HR processes and data, including eligibility and enrollment rules,
and benefit procedures to ensure correct implementation.
● Working knowledge of Excel pivot tables and techniques for merging files.
● Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to effectively interpret,
communicate, and explain technical language in non-technical terms.
● Ability to deal with sensitive and complex situations, problems, and highly
confidential information Ability to exercise tact and discretion; appreciation of the
confidential nature of verbal and written communications and records.
● Skilled in compiling data and preparing appropriate reports and documents
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact
● professionally with all stakeholder groups
● Strong organizational and follow-through skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
● Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required.
● 6 years of professional human resource administration, including 3 years in total
rewards and/or HRIS preferred OR equivalent training, education, or other relevance
experience. SHRM-CP/SCP or HRCI PHR/SPHR strongly preferred
● Proficient in the knowledge and use of technical computer applications, including
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Google Suite
