Penn Medicine is looking for a part-time Social Worker!
Summary:
- Responsible for psychosocial and psychotherapeutic support of general adult patients at the Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Contributes to the patient's treatment plan through an understanding of social, psychological and/or environmental needs. Professional activities will be carried out in accordance with the code of ethics established by the National Association of Social Workers.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the behavioral health interdisciplinary health care team to ensure continuity of care and support services to patients and families.
- Identifies and attends to the psychological needs of patients and families.
- Provides counseling to patients, families and groups.
- Responsible for documentation in the medical record, statistics and reports as required.
- Maintains relationships with community agencies and keeps up to date on resources.
- Uses effective interpersonal skills in all interactions.
- Enhances own professional development and maintains formal and informal continuing education for self-improvement.
Credentials:
- Licensed Social Worker
- MSW or LSW preferred.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Master of Arts or Science (Required)
- And 3 years Behavioral health experience in the field, health care setting experience helpful, direct practice experience helpful. Education Specialization: Social Work
