Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing for medical services. Your expertise in medical billing systems, knowledge of HIPAA regulations, and experience working in a medical office setting will be essential to your success in this role. Responsibilities:
- Review and verify accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, identifying and resolving any issues or discrepancies
- Process payments received from insurance companies or patients, applying them to the appropriate accounts
- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries or disputes
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times
- Collaborate with the front desk and patient service teams to ensure accurate billing information is obtained
- Utilize medical billing software such as eClinicalWorks, Epic, or Eaglesoft to perform billing tasks efficiently
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Medical Biller in a medical office setting
- Proficiency in medical billing systems and software (e.g., eClinicalWorks, Epic, Eaglesoft)
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
Note: Experience with ER billing is a plus.
