Pathways To Housing DC is Hiring an Executive Assistant-Homeless Services Near Washington, DC

This is currently a temporary position: April 1, 2024 - October 31, 2024.

Pathways to Housing DC (Pathways DC) is an innovative and nationally recognized nonprofit organization committed to supporting recovery and ending homelessness for individuals with serious mental illnesses, co-occurring substance abuse disorders and/or other medical challenges in our Nation's capital. Pathways is one of the originators of “Housing First”, in which services are provided to those in need without conditions and pre-housing requirements such as curfews, mandated sobriety or compliance with medication.

In collaboration with the Vice President of Homeless Operations, the Executive Assistant will provide support on the implementation of the homeless outreach strategy for the Homeless Services Team including: support coordinating outreach activities, programs and events, and a range of administrative duties such as preparing program reports, analyzing budgetary information, and coordinating hiring efforts.

This is a data heavy position. The Executive Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment. 50% of the work is performed remote, with 50% of the time needed in the field (Washington, DC). This is a full-time position and may (rarely) require evening work.

Responsibilities

  • Works directly with the Vice President of Operations and serves as an administrator with the homeless services team Providing logistical support for projects, initiatives, and programs within the homeless services environment.
  • Liaises and communicates with project consultants and field office staff, providing logistical and administrative support, as directed. Specific responsibilities for 30% of this role will include management of referrals for a new Fall 2023 program in this department.
  • Assists assigned managers and team members by maintaining calendars, receiving and composing communications as correspondence, and replies to inquiries.
  • Drafts reports with direction from Vice President, Homeless Operations. Processes financial documents including expense reports, invoices, attends staff meetings and takes minutes.
  • Writes routine reports and correspondence, and assists with the development of project/program materials. 
  • Supports organization of meetings and events.
  • Works with and maintains data management and filing for grants, projects/programs. 
  • Perform other related work as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred; non-degree with extensive managerial experience will be considered.
  • Driver's license and vehicle required; transportation between each site required.
  • Excellent communication, writing, technology, and computer skills.
  • Demonstrated experience using computer spreadsheets and databases required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a highly collaborative and communicative style.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
  • An ability to remain peaceful and productive in times of stress, and to collaborate effectively in a multicultural community.
  • Patience, creativity, flexibility, compassion, and sensitivity to persons with disabilities and other minority populations.

Salary: $60,000 annually
