Reporting to Director, FP&A, the Sr Financial Advisor, FP&A will be a key member of the FP&A team, will provide support to the Director and work closely the US Leadership Team, Finance Teams, and other teams within USA’s operations as a key business partner.
The Sr Financial Advisor will own and oversee various financial planning, modeling and analysis mandates and will work closely with various finance departments and operational teams to meet FP&A goals and objectives. The Sr Financial Advisor will be a key business partner working directly with management and other internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations and develop reports to drive the business. Depending on the deliverable, will be supported by the team members in FP&A team.
The Sr Financial Advisor will manage routine deliverables as well as be involved with continuous improvement projects as well as ad-hoc finance projects throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:
Forecasting, Modeling, Strategic Planning and Budgeting
- Build and maintain a robust corporate model that forecasts consolidated US income statements, cash flows and balance sheet for multiple years
- Manage the monthly rolling forecast, including EBITDA and capex.
- Assist with preparation with the preparation of the 5-year strategic plan.
- Manage the annual budgeting process and deliver the annual budget.
Reporting Analysis
- Develop meaningful reports that presents complex financial analysis in a concise and user-friendly way that would be of high value to operations and the business.
- Assist with preparation of consolidated US management and board decks.
- Manage and perform quantitative analysis on a wide variety of matters to help management in decision making, including capex spending decisions, and investment cases.
- Assist the monthly, quarterly and annual actual vs. budget and KPI and performance analysis for the US.
- Analyze investment cases of acquisitions to set up targets and perform “lookback” analysis.
- Prepare dashboards, actual vs. budget results analysis, KPI analysis and other analysis and ensure they are user-friendly and meaningful to the business.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to drive the business.
Process Improvements
- Take a leadership role in the development of process improvements and automate reports and reduce reporting time.
- Understand the current and future state of USA’s accounting and operational systems and look for process improvements for automation to reduce/eliminate manual processes and increase efficiency and effectiveness in providing information.
Special ad hoc projects
- Support USA M&A activities.
- Develops ad hoc reports/analysis as required.
Qualifications
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
- Accounting/Finance Designation – CPA, CA, CFA or equivalent.
- University degree in Business, Commerce or Accounting or equivalent.
- 7 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related areas.
- Strong numeric skills, including the ability to analyze and critique complex financial models.
- Ability to work in an ever-changing environment and deal with time sensitive issues.
- Curious mindset with strong critical and analytical skills to validate and challenge information provided by various sources.
- Ability to keep multiple projects with varying timeliness moving ahead contemporaneously.
- Must be a team player with the ability to work independently and be accountable for results.
- Possess the capacity to listen / consult / advise and provide solutions for a variety of stakeholders who may have concurrent or competing priorities.
- Knowledge of IFRS, OneStream, VIVID Reports, Power BI and Think-Cell an asset.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to connect across the organization at all levels.
