Parker Tide is Hiring a Records Assistant Near Winchester, VA

Parker Tide is a veteran-owned, small business government contractor that serves as a value-added partner to the government. We are currently seeking Records Assistants to work onsite in Winchester, VA with one of our clients.

Title: Records Assistants

Clearance: Active Top-Secret Clearance (US Citizenship)

Salary: Depends on Experience

Work Setting and Environment

100% onsite in Winchester, VA.

2 shifts are available (morning and evening with the possibility of a 3rd shift).

Flexible schedules and overtime may be requested.

One year and four option years.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • High school degree (or equivalent).
  • 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in the preparation, management, and execution of project plans.
  • Capable of lifting/carrying items up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Capable of operating carts (utility carts, shelving carts, etc.)
  • Able to wear protective equipment (rubber gloves, face masks, etc.) for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform functions including, but not limited to preparing hard copy records for scanning, scanning hardcopy files to electronic images, assuring a quality image, burning project CDs, filing mail, retrieving, and returning files to the shelf, boxing records for shipment, checking date of file for transfer eligibility, destroying records, creating records inventories, and performing data entry.
  • Work individually or as part of a team.
  • Perform functions associated with the disposition of records including conducting page by page reviews of files, appropriately identifying and marking records for further review by classification staff, inventorying records, boxing records for shipments, verifying date of files for transfer eligibility, palletizing records for shipment.
  • Review and implement directions associated with the transfer of authorized destruction of records.
  • Ability to responsibly access, research and use applications and databases including Content Manager, Sentinel, HR Source, DIVS, and CATS to perform records management functions effectively.
  • Ability to perform research and analysis on documents (e.g., loose mail documents) based on the established business rules, security policies before inventorying them with the existing file.
  • Competent in general clerical principals, practices, and techniques; organizing and maintaining files and records database/recordkeeping systems, preparing routine, non-complex, documents, and taking technical direction from a diverse group of government employees.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative work that is measured in final product and/or production.
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders to access shelving and files.
  • Ability to stand/sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to wear and tolerate personal protective equipment (e.g., rubber gloves, surgical face masks, etc.) for prolonged periods of time.
  • Adequate dexterity and be able to read, write, work with all kinds of paper material of varying qualities.
  • Ability to effectively understand and communicate (both written and verbal) in English.
  • Capable of drafting various documents and correspondence and possess basic proficiency in receiving / sending communications via telephone, e-mail, and other communication systems.
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft applications, including Excel and Word, to track, monitor, and develop stats/reports for assigned tasks.
  • Ability to understand and follow policy guidelines for assigned tasks.
  • Ability to search and update data in agency systems for assigned tasks.
  • Conduct other analytical records management-related functions as requested.
  • Provide outstanding customer service.
  • Ability to independently perform assigned records management functions.
