Paradise Valley Country Club is Hiring a Grounds Maintenance I Near Paradise, AZ

Description

The Grounds Maintenance Technician at Paradise Valley Country Club is responsible for performing routine manual labor involved in the upkeep of the club's grounds. This role includes operating various equipment, maintaining designated areas, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and aesthetics of the property. The Grounds Maintenance Technician will work in an outdoor environment, collaborating with the grounds team to provide a safe and well-maintained outdoor space for members and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine manual labor involved in the upkeep of the grounds.
  • Under supervision, may be required to do semi-skilled grounds work.
  • Operates small, hand-held power equipment.
  • Maintains the assigned area of the facility, which may change at the discretion of the supervisor.
  • Rakes and maintains flower beds.
  • Prepares the grounds daily, including picking up all visible trash from the front entrance and around the entire property/grounds.
  • Ensures all grounds accessories are neat and positioned correctly.
  • Maintains proper fluid levels in each piece of equipment used daily and reports all improperly functioning equipment to a supervisor or the equipment technician.
  • Returns all equipment to the properly designated areas after it has been properly cleaned.
  • Cleans in and around the grounds daily.
  • May apply fertilizers and pesticides as requested, under the supervision of a licensed applicator (if required).

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
  • Three to six months of previous experience and/or training in grounds maintenance, landscape maintenance, athletic field maintenance, irrigation system maintenance, equipment operation, and manual labor.
  • Ability to pass background and reference checking as stipulated by company standards.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work required.
  • Valid Arizona Driver License.
  • Agreement to maintain a Drug-Free Workplace as a condition of employment.
  • Skills in power tool operation, including chainsaw, pole saw, stump grinder, auger, jackhammer, hedge trimmer, etc.
  • Skills in cleaning and maintenance of facilities.
  • Skills in working in a team environment and providing customer service.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, reliability, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions.

Physical Demands:

  • Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions with environmental noise.
  • Moving about on foot with minimal rest.
  • Operating and inspecting landscaping equipment.
  • Occasionally ascending or descending ladders using feet and legs or hands and arms.
  • Frequently utilizing a 10-pound backpack.
  • Exerting force upon an object so that it moves away from the force or towards the force.
  • Frequently required to position the body to perform maintenance duties by bending the body downward and forward at the waist, often requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles, bending the body downward and forward by bending legs and spine.
  • Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching on narrow slippery surfaces.
  • Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand or hands.
  • Clarity of vision at various ranges up to 20 feet, including observing an area that can be seen up and down or to the right or left while the eyes are fixed on a given point.
  • Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships to see objects where and as they are.
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions, including weather, moving mechanical parts, electric shock, vibration, extreme heat, noise, and toxic chemicals
