Outside is Hiring a Remote Partnerships Manager

ARE YOU READY TO TAKE YOUR CAREER TO NEW HEIGHTS? ARE YOU SEEKING A NEW CHALLENGE IN A DYNAMIC SECTOR?

This is a very exciting and highly innovative time here at Outside.

OUR TRUE NORTH:

Outside Interactive, Inc., the premier hub for active lifestyle enthusiasts, offers best-in-class content and experiences to more than 70 million of the world’s most passionate outdoor, wellness, and endurance enthusiasts every month. We inspire a broad and diverse audience to do the activities they love with greater enjoyment, inspiration, and knowledge and are dedicated to making real change in the outdoor and fitness industries.

Outside Studios is seeking a dynamic Partnerships Manager to develop and nurture strategic relationships with key business partners in Outside’s TV and video division. As a Partnership Manager for Outside Studios, you will play a critical role in driving audience and revenue growth by managing workflows in these relationships and by creating opportunities for great visibility of our programming.

The Senior Account Manager role blends multiple objectives – distribution growth, content acquisition, and business development – into a role that is partly creative, partly sales-oriented, and 100% growth-minded.

In this role, you will manage partner engagements that are critical to our growth trajectory:

  • Nurture & Grow Distribution: Manage relationships across Outside Studios' content distribution network, spanning key clients and vendors in FAST, linear, event, and other syndication channels. A special emphasis will be placed on steering the network's evolution from linear reliance to digital abundance.
  • Fuel Membership and Sponsorship: Proactively pursue revenue and subscription-bundling opportunities that not only bolster Outside membership but also amplify sponsorship sales within existing and future content licensing agreements.
  • Enrich Video Portfolio: Broaden Outside's video offering by working with senior executives to secure live sports programming from event owners/producers, athletic associations, and governing bodies, solidifying our position as a premier content provider.

The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of the evolving TV industry, exceptional relationship-building and project-management skills, and a proven track record of managing successful partnerships. You are a natural-born seller and collaborator, demonstrating an innate talent for finding solutions and opportunities within long term business relationships. Your adept planning and negotiation skills will shine through as you strategize with partners to raise all ships and produce greater results.

This is an opportunity to elevate your career by working with senior executives at Outside on the largest and most strategic content deals at the company.

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Strategic Partnership Workflows: Manage day-to-day relationships with key partners in TV distribution and licensing to ensure success of the unique projects and timelines in each partnership.
  • Market Insights: Stay current with industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape within TV distribution and licensing. Use insights to inform partnership strategies and identify emerging opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with content acquisition, marketing, legal, and finance teams to align partnership strategies, ensure seamless execution, and drive successful outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for key partners, maintaining regular communication to provide updates, address inquiries, and ensure alignment on objectives.
  • Performance Tracking: Establish and track key performance metrics related to content visibility, audience engagement, and revenue generation. Generate reports to assess partnership effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Audience Growth: Inspire, inform, nurture, and collaborate with partners to leverage greater visibility of Outside Studios content from their marketing and promotional resources.
  • Business Growth: Help other Outside leaders drive audience and revenue growth by leveraging partnerships to increase the distribution and licensing of our TV network's content. Identify opportunities to expand the network's reach and monetization potential within target markets.
  • Campaign Implementation: Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute marketing and promotional campaigns that maximize the visibility of our network's content across partner platforms. Monitor campaign performance and optimize strategies as needed.

Measurement & Success

  • We will assign KPIs to each of the Key Objectives. The primary metrics will be incremental membership, sponsorship revenue, and viewership growth, except where a new partnership or initiative may be deemed a success for strategic reasons.

What YOU bring to Outside: (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Media, or a related field. Master's degree and/or training in advanced project management is a plus.
  • Proven experience (8 years) in account management or partnership development within the TV distribution and licensing sectors.
  • Deep understanding of the TV industry, including content distribution models, licensing agreements, and audience engagement strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships at various levels of partner organizations.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and market insights to drive informed decisions.
  • Results-oriented with a strong sense of initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in CRM and project management tools.
  • Passion and familiarity with outdoor sports and active lifestyle content
