The Estimator is responsible for preparing cost and labor estimates on a variety of POP work that is transactional and occasionally may be unique, requiring the comparison of multiple options to build an estimate. They must be willing to work on a team and interact with different levels within the organization. This is a great opportunity for a candidate who thrives in a fast moving, and ever changing environment. Candidates must have excellent math skills and be very computer literate. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, detailed oriented and have excellent verbal and written communication skills; including being able to communicate with suppliers and negotiate pricing information on simple and complex projects.

Responsibilities:

• Receives job specifications from Sales to ensure the information needed to build an estimate has been provided. Contacts Sales to gather missing/incomplete information required to price a job.
• Enters specifications into pricing systems/software to build pricing scenarios.
• Quantifies materials to be purchased on a prospective job, and initiates requests for outside pricing of materials.
• Establishes which equipment will be used to run the job and computes custom rates, when applicable, for hand labor and/or machine labor.
• Enters information into the estimating program to produce final printed estimate. This will be vetted and approved. (May need to review historical estimates to appropriately estimate).
• Verifies if projects meet all financial guidelines including mark-ups/margin reports.
• Works closely with designers and Associate Director of Plant Operations to ensure complete understanding of project from setup to completion
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned

Skills and Abilities:

• Able to read and thoroughly understand blueprints, engineering CAD drawings and is able to interpret them for pricing
• Strong math skills, especially involving percentages
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Must be detail oriented
• Has a passion for providing accurate and timely pricing to our clients

Experience and Education:

• Point of Purchase experience preferred and knowledge of: Litho printing, Silk-screening, Digital printing, Mounting, Die-cutting, Assembly, Kitting
• A minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably in retail display industry or related industry
• High school Diploma or equivalent, Undergraduate degree is a plus
