Overview:

The Sales Manager is responsible for driving the outbound sales team to advance our revenue goals across all retail, ecommerce, reseller and distribution channels, as well as corporate, education, and government verticals. The primary focus will be to grow OWC’s revenue and customer success via strategically executed outbound sales strategies.

The ideal candidate will have 10 years of sales management experience. There must be a strong ability to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical prospects to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. Must continually be aware of competitor's activities, account history, emerging trends, etc., and understand how to create and capitalize on opportunities.

We are seeking a leader who can thrive in a fast-paced environment while being able to multi-task and prioritize in real time. This role requires strong sales-driven, written, and verbal communication, analytical, project management, and team leadership skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Attain sales goals and objectives through the effective management of the daily operations of the outbound sales team.
  • Review all major named accounts with Account Managers on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • Communicate the company’s goals to ensure its strategic mission and values resonate consistently through to both employees and customers.
  • Provides leadership and management guidance on the delivery of key sales and marketing programs.
  • Accountable for product forecasting, budget control, investment measurement and the business planning process.
  • Responsible for measuring the results of all activities and reports and reports to senior management.
  • Performs all personnel management activities for staff including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and salary management; encourages professional development through job assignments and training.
  • Procurement and retention of skilled, efficient, and productive staff in order to achieve quota expectations.
  • Conducts weekly meetings with the Sales Team to efficiently communicate and set strategic performance goals and tactical objectives.
  • Manages the assigned allocation of sales territories, vertical segments, and accounts.
  • Monthly Management reporting on actual performance against budget with any variances analyzed.
  • Adept at managing multiple projects and demands simultaneously.
  • Motivate the sales team to meet and overachieve individual and team goals on a daily, weekly, and quarterly basis.

Required Competencies:

  • 10 years of sales management experience within a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment with a strong focus on SSD, Storage, Memory, and/or Computer Accessories for a solutions-driven organization.
  • Demonstrated understanding of or past experience selling computer technology products and accessories focused around business intelligence, data warehousing, enterprise architecture, and metadata management is strongly preferred.
  • Significant knowledge and background in storage technologies, deployment models, and application spaces used in consumer direct, corporate B2B, retail, distribution, corporate, and enterprise environments.
  • Capable of thriving in fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and expectation points. Must be able to effectively manage expectations comfortably and effectively across multiple domains.
  • Detail-oriented individual with exceptional communication, listening, and problem analysis/resolution.
  • Consistent delivery of exceptional results in a fast-paced, complex sales environment. Robust knowledge and understanding of both technical and sales processes as well as customer psychology.
  • Substantiated history of successful customer interaction and results in technology markets.
  • Ability to efficiently track multiple, complex projects and relationships. Capable of adapting communication and style for individual needs to obtain peak performance and results.
  • Must be able to synthesize strategic information from a variety of internal and external analytic sources and have the ability to translate that data into effective and actionable plans.
  • Business and Financial Acumen: Understanding basic business mathematics, financial strategies, and performance indicators, and applying that knowledge to client’s economic and buying environment.
  • Building Influential Relationships: Working collaboratively with national retailers and account team members to meet business goals and objectives; using appropriate communication methods to influence others and establish relationships.
  • Negotiation: Effectively exploring interests and options to reach outcomes that gain the agreement and acceptance of all parties by using legitimate data, objective criteria to support one's proposal.
  • Project Management Skills – Developing project plans and revising them as needed in response to obstacles; identifying and marshaling resources to implement plans; managing, monitoring, and communicating progress and parameters to team members and stakeholders.
  • Goal Alignment: Creating a line of sight between your own and others’ objectives and those of the business unit as driven by strategy, maintain consistency between individual and organizational goals, and realign goals in response to the changing realities of the marketplace and the competitive landscape.
