Osborne Association Inc is Hiring a Social Worker Near Bronx, NY

Description

The Osborne Association serves individuals, families, and communities affected by the criminal justice system. Osborne is opening its first transitional housing and reentry program, The Fulton Community Reentry Center (Fulton). Fulton will provide 140 beds of transitional reentry housing to formerly incarcerated men who would otherwise be homeless after discharge from a correctional facility. Fulton will also provide onsite reentry services, including case management, benefits enrollment, employment, health, and substance use disorder treatment. The facility operates 365 days on a 24-hour basis daily, including evening and weekend hours (some positions will require non-traditional hours).

We are seeking three full-time licensed LMSW Social Workers. The Social Work will provide direct services to clients, including engagement, assessment, service plan development, referral, advocacy, therapeutic counseling, reassessment, and exit summaries. This position reports to the Director of Social Services of Fulton Community Reentry Center.

Salary range: $31.32-$32.97 hourly

Requirements

Essential Duties:

  • Manage a caseload for a diverse client population.
  • Monitor and document client progress toward service plan goals; document all interactions with, or on behalf of, clients.
  • Maintain familiarity with program resources available on- and off-site.
  • Coordinate client services with mental health, medical, employment, educational, and other social service providers.
  • Review and sign off on psycho-social assessments.
  • Communicate and collaborate with client support team and service providers to enhance engagement and ensure the quality of service
  • Conduct regular case conferences with clients and service providers as required.
  • Report directly to Deputy Program Director for bi-monthly supervision.
  • Complete program reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Master’s degree in social work required

· New York State LMSW certification required, or the ability to obtain license within six (6) months of hire

· One year of relevant work experience preferred.

Key Competencies:

  • Must have the flexibility to work some evenings and occasional weekends as needed.
  • Excellent and demonstrated writing ability.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • Knowledge of CARES, MS Word, Excel, and database management skills. Knowledge of community resources.
  • Ability to solve problems, make decisions, resolve conflicts and listen.
  • Able to deal calmly in crisis situations and handle multiple tasks effectively under pressure.
  • Effective at working collaboratively well with diverse groups.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and efficient. Maturity, integrity, and sound judgment.
  • Engaging personality and detailed orientated skills are essential.
  • Strong oral and written communication, time management, and organizational skills are necessary
