Mission or Goal of Unit: To provide superior, compassionate and innovativeclinical care to our patients using state of the art knowledge and resourcesand to conduct and disseminate clinical research and scholarship, with a focuson the care of patients and education of future clinicians Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a clinician with an interest in general Gastroenterology to function withinthe Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at VCU HealthTappahannock. Position Responsibilities: Clinical - Provide clinical services in the gastroenterology clinics at VCU Health Tappahannock; participate in the inpatient management of patients with GI conditions, participate in attending on the Digestive Health Service; perform diagnostic endoscopic procedures. Required Qualifications:
Teaching – Provide teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows in the management of patients with GI conditions.
Research- Triangulation of health disparities-opioid abuse-outcomes in the context of inflammatory bowel disease to develop strategies for community based implementation to improve access and treatment responsiveness.
