Position Summary :

The Brandcenter seeks a highly motivated and qualified Recruitment and Admissions Specialist. This team member plays a pivotal role at the Brandcenter, serving as the primary contact for a diverse range of current students, prospective students, and visitors.

This multifaceted position combines administrative and professional responsibilities. The specialist is responsible for executing recruitment strategies while also overseeing front desk operations, which may involve managing federal work-study students.

In this role, the Recruitment and Admissions Specialist will contribute significantly to the growth and success of the Brandcenter by effectively managing recruitment efforts and ensuring prospective students receive the information and support needed.

While primarily an in-person daytime position in Richmond, VA, this role requires candidate flexibility to periodically work some evenings and weekends for recruitment events and to conduct frequent recruitment travel as needed throughout the year.

Typical Responsibilities :

Report to the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Enrollment to plan and execute recruitment strategies, increasing program awareness, inquiries, and enrollments.

Guide prospective students regarding program details and admissions requirements, actively managing inquiries.

Build and maintain relationships with undergraduate university faculty.

Assist in organizing and participating in off-campus, on-campus and virtual recruitment events, demonstrating comfort with addressing both small and large groups.

Travel overnight for recruitment is expected each semester.

Update and maintain student records in Slate CRM

Guide prospective students and applicants through the admissions process by answering questions and following up via phone, email, and in-person visits.

Supervise the front desk operations which could include federal work-study students, ensuring a smooth and professional front-of-house experience.

Maintain excellent communication skills and the ability to think critically, adapting to changing recruitment demands.

Execute administrative responsibilities (, creating, printing, and organizing materials for events and programs).

Represent the Brandcenter and act as the first impression for visitors, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.

Participate in other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :

Experience as a agency recruiter or in higher education admissions

Experience with CRM management and strong computer skills, including the ability to learn new systems.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills.

Comfortability presenting to small and large groups

Ability and willingness to travel and a valid driver's license.

Experience working in and fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment or the commitment to do so as an employee at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications :

3 years in higher education or agency recruiting

Proficiency in Technolutions Slate

Familiarity with the marketing and advertising industry

Management experience with volunteers, interns, or graduate students

Typical Schedule : Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, and may require periodic weekend and evening hours. This position is in-person at the Brandcenter in Richmond, VA.
