Function/Duties of Position

The Center is seeking an experienced individual to provide data management, administration and research support across a portfolio of large projects. The position’s primary role will include intake, management, and organization of the administrative and survey-based datasets used in the Center’s research projects. Specific tasks will include upkeep and oversite of a remote server environment used for data storage and analysis, the secure receipt of data updates, communication with select data suppliers, and creation and oversight of codebooks and other data use documentation.

Successful candidates will also have significant experience research database construction and in collaborating with researchers to build project-specific analytic files. Further, successful candidates will have strong written communications skills and a demonstrated ability drafting data documentation, and overseeing its use across myriad researchers and projects. Candidates should have experience working with and supporting multiple research teams. Experience with data visualizations tools (e.g. Tableau or Power BI) is also desired.

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree in relevant field AND 2 years of relevant experience OR
• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field AND 4 years of relevant experience
• Degrees in Computer Science or a relevant health or social science-related field (e.g. Public Health/Epidemiology)
• 4 Years Database Administration/Development
• 3 Experience working with administrative data (e.g. insurance claims, program participation data)
• Experience establishing and managing data use agreements
• Thorough understanding of management and data administration duties such as collection, analysis, and distribution
• Construction and maintenance of an SQL database
• Expertise in at least one software package commonly used for data management in health services research (SAS, R (specifically—tidyverse package), Python, or Stata)
• Demonstrated proficiency working with large (millions of records) data files
• Technical writing and ability to develop data documentation
• Proven ability to create analytic files (for use in research)
• Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborator in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• 5% Years Database Administration/Development

• Specific experience with PostgreSQL, SAS or R

• Experience with Tableau and/or Power BI

• Certification in SAS and/or SQL
