The Healthcare Data Analyst is a critical resource in our efforts to manage health care costs, improve quality, and enhance the experience of both the member and the care team, through sophisticated analysis and communication of health care data.This a full-time remote position.

Schedule

• Full time minimum 7.5 work days with 37.5 work weeks

Primary Functions:

1. Under general supervision, performs complex research and analysis of healthcare claims, enrollment, and other related data, to report on network utilization, cost structure, and/or quality.
2. Uses analytical tools such as SAS, Excel, and Tableau to organize, summarize, and present data.
3. Presents data in a compelling way that highlights the opportunities at hand – whether in making comparisons to benchmarks, pointing out anomalies, displaying trends over time, or using other creative analytical tools.
4. Thinks creatively about how to solve ad hoc reporting problems or meet specific business needs, given the data available.
5. Meets with internal customers to brainstorm what kind of information/report is needed for each situation.
6. Makes presentations to internal and external stakeholders about health care cost and utilization. 
7. Writes and maintains documentation related to reports and projects.
8. Participates in work groups and committees as needed.
9. Collaborates with the other members of the Analytics team to expand analytical capabilities, methods, and toolkits.
10. Participates in user groups to share analysis tips and techniques.
11.  Other Duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial analysis or other data analysis role. Experience with health care data preferred.
3. Understanding of health care data sources and limitations.
4. Ability to transform and integrate data from multiple tables, databases, and/or systems.
5. Demonstrated ability to use data to influence organization strategy, workflows, or results.
6. Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
7. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
8. Experience with using data analysis tools such as SAS, SQL, Microsoft Access, Tableau, Crystal Reports, or other similar applications.
9. Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
10. Ability to work well under pressure and with constantly shifting priorities.
11. Ability to project a professional image and maintain complete confidentiality.
