Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The HR Generalist II is an experienced human resources professional who plays an important role in providing comprehensive HR support to the organization. This position handles various HR functions, including executing training initiatives and managing compensation programs that attract, retain, and motivate employees ensuring policy compliance, promoting a positive work culture, and driving HR initiatives to support organizational goals. This role requires a deeper understanding of HR principles and practices and involves handling more complex HR responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Recruitment and Talent Acquisition
    • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for exempt-level positions, including the job posting, sourcing candidates, participating in the interview process, checking references, and extending offers
    • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies
    • Plan and execute the onboarding plan for new employees, ensuring a smooth and seamless integration into the organization
    • Implement best practices in talent acquisition to attract and retain top talent
  • Training and Development
    • Identify training needs and coordinate employee development initiatives to enhance skills and capabilities
    • Partner with the Director of Human Resources in creating and maintaining job accountability mapping
    • Collaborate with supervisors to design and deliver training sessions and workshops
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives and make recommendations for improvement
    • Track compliance to ensure required training is completed and/or up to date
  • Compensation
    • Support developing and executing a comprehensive compensation strategy aligned with the organization's goals and values
    • Conduct market research and benchmarking to ensure the competitiveness of the compensation structure
    • Maintain compensation frameworks, salary structures, and pay scales
    • Analyze and forecast compensation trends to ensure the organization's compensation practices remain competitive
    • Communicate the organization’s compensation philosophy, policies, and programs to employees as needed
    • Generate reports on compensation metrics, cost projections, and budgetary impact for decision-making
    • Identify areas for improvement in compensation processes and recommend enhancements
  • HR Compliance and Policies
    • Stay updated on employment laws and regulations, ensuring the organization’s compliance with local, state, and federal laws
    • Assist in developing and revising HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks to reflect current best practices and legal requirements
  • HR Administration
    • Maintain employee records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations
    • Prepare HR-related documents, as needed
    • Handle HR paperwork, including leave management, timekeeping, and attendance tracking
    • Process Verification of Employment requests as needed
  • HR Analytics and Reporting
    • Utilize HR metrics and data analysis to identify trends and provide insights for informed decision-making
    • Prepare HR reports and dashboards for management, highlighting key performance indicators
  • Employee Engagement and Culture
    • Champion employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive work culture that aligns with the organization’s values and mission
  • HR Projects and Strategic Initiatives
    • Collaborate in developing and participating in HR projects to enhance HR processes, organizational development, and employee engagement
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic HR initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. HR Certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PH) is a plus

Experience

  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in human resources or related roles, demonstrating increasing responsibility
  • 3 years of experience in administering compensation programs, conducting market research, and assisting in the development of compensation strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with employees at all levels

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, AND CLEARANCES

  • Cleared Background/Fingerprint check
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Cleared TB assessment
  • Completion of Ministry Safe Training

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position involves sedentary work; sitting is performed most of the time
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand or walk
  • Use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms
  • The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds
  • Must bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, squat, kneel, jump, twist
  • Specific vision abilities include near and far vision within the normal range, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, prolonged viewing of a computer screen
