UCT is looking for a talented HR Generalist to join us in Austin, TX! In this hands-on role, you will be a team player responsible for providing administrative support to the human resources function in the area of staffing, also providing exemplary customer service and other HR Generalist activities for our fast paced organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Full life cycle recruiting
  • Processes various forms related to documenting human resources activities such as new-hire, change-of-status, performance evaluations, benefits, terminations, etc.
  • Conducts new-hire orientations, counsels employees on benefit features
  • Trains new employees as required on self-service HR tools.
  • Assists with audit and reporting of site staffing programs.
  • Maintains employee hardcopy files. Inputs employee personal data into human resources information/computer system (HRIS) database.
  • Provides information to employees on matters pertaining to their personal employee information.
  • Coordinates termination and reduction in force activities including paperwork, related distributions and communications.
  • Reviews and updates exit paperwork for team, close out exiting employee’s files, store exit interview data for reporting. May conduct employee exit interviews and tally general statistics including headcount tracking.
  • Maintain organizational charts with up-to-date information.
  • May prepare special reports, such as insurance, COBRA, OSHA, AAP, EEO-100.
  • Works on special projects in support of the HR organization.
  • Other Recruiting and HR duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, attention to detail and exceptional follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work independently on numerous activities and prioritize them properly while meeting deadlines.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Strong sense of ethics and confidentiality with regard to employee and business issues.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with line managers.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office suite, Advanced Excel) with some HRIS exposure (ADP Employease).

Educational/Certification Requirement:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Human Resources.
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred.

Experience Requirement:

Work Experience:

  • 3 years HR experience, preferably in high technology/manufacturing environment.
  • 3 years full life cycle recruiting.

  • Ability to talk on phone and use computer for extended periods of time may be required.

Environmental Exposure:

  • Required to wear personal protective equipment where applicable.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to talk on phone and use computer for extended periods of time may be required.
  • May involve exposure to moderate noise levels from printers, faxes, computers etc.

Overnight Travel:

  • Work may require out of town travel depending upon assignment (training and meeting). 25%
