Description:

Maintenance Technician/Assistant position is needed for multiple dental offices to repair and

maintain facilities and equipment under the direction of the Facilities Manager.

Qualifications/Skills for Maintenance Technician:

• Good communication and team working skills
• Good computer literacy and ability to scan, email and create logs/memos/other documents
• Good people skills and ability to be friendly and communicative with staff and patients
• Strong manual dexterity and ability to use power and hand tools (electricdrill/drivers/saws, etc. Also large and small hand tools)
• Must be willing and able to climb ladders, crawl under buildings/in attics and work in
• confined spaces as needed.
• General building maintenance skills (painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry)
• Basic understanding of plumbing and wiring
• Ability to follow instructions and manage priorities
• Ability to read schematics and plans.
• Ability to organize material, tools and spare equipment
• Ability to keep maintenance logs and organize notes, plans and equipment documentation
• Ability to drive long distances as needed (between Bakersfield and Merced)
• Professionalism in appearance and interaction with staff, vendors, and patients is a must!
• Experience with dental equipment is a plus (sterilization, delivery units, chairs, vac, compressors, etc)

Responsibilities of Maintenance Technician:

• Follow direction from Facilities Manager and other Lead Management
• Respond to work orders for problems with dental equipment (training to be provided as needed)
• Respond to work orders for problems with buildings, plumbing, lighting, HVAC, etc
• Help with installation of heavy/bulky equipment (compressors, vacuum systems, dental lights, x-rays, autoclaves)
• Maintain office book for each location (list of dental/general equipment MN/SN, paint codes, flooring codes, model and part number list for mechanical/plumbing/electrical/lighting equipment)
• Perform preventative maintenance as directed
• Monitor/maintain curb appeal of offices
• Maintain organization of storage facilities
• Follow policies and procedures
• Audio/Visual installations, mount TVs/monitors, run data lines, mount camera systems
• Assemble desks, cabinets, shelves, chairs, etc
• Maintain/repair electrical, mechanical and plumbing often in crawl spaces under buildings and inside attics
• Change fluorescent and other light bulbs and ballasts as needed

Job Requirements for Maintenance Technician:

• Good driving record
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, minor fixes such as patching a wall, fixing a doorknob, appliance repair, etc.
• Basic familiarity with use of computers and technology. Navigate at a basic level within web-based applications
• Ability to lift heavy items as needed
• Be able to pass a drug test and background check
• Valid CA Driver’s License and auto insurance
• Must have reliable transportation to be used on the job (mileage reimbursement will be provided)
• Able to work Monday-Friday, 8 hour shifts (shifts will be between 6am and 7pm), ability to work on weekends as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
