Description

Summary:

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for the entry of all benefit related data within our HR and Payroll system to support the accurate and timely processing of payroll.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Process all benefit related changes within the HR and Payroll system
  • Enter updates and add any missing earnings and deductions to employee’s profile
  • Reconcile insurance carrier invoicing with employee benefit enrollments and elections
  • Compare insurance invoicing with elections to confirm accuracy of billing within accounting and finance system
  • Review qualifying life events and approve or deny based upon eligibility guidelines and supporting documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: 

1 year of benefits administration experience working with multiple insurance carriers

1 year of HR and payroll data entry experience

Proficient in Microsoft Suite

Ability to work well with others, be a team player

Willingness to communicate and collaborate with various departments

Proficient with Microsoft Suite 065 products (excel, word, PowerPoint)

Required Education: 

High School Diploma or GED required

Associate degree in an accounting or business-related field preferred

Supervisory Requirements: 

 None

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: 

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional after-hours work may be required to meet deadlines or manage crisis situations

Physical Demands: 

Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms 

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines 

Occasionally required to lift or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds 

Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug/alcohol testing and participate in random testing program 

Position requires working indoors in a professional office atmosphere, remote work arrangement possible based upon location

Must possess valid driver’s license
Travel: 

10% expected for this position. Potential to work remote based upon location.
