Cloud Automation Engineer About the Role: We are currently seeking a Cloud Automation Engineer to become a member of our Cloud Automation Team in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate should have broad knowledge and experience in cloud infrastructure, security, and software development, with strong experience developing and managing infrastructure-as-code (IaC). Responsibilities: Contribute to the design, development, and support of a world-class cloud engineering platform enabling self-service consumption of multiple Public, Private, and Hybrid clouds. Drive the adoption of a DevSecOps mindset at Alcority A code-first approach, always seeking ways to automate and manage everything-as-code. Design, implement, and support container build and orchestration environments. Operate within strict and rigorous security engineering requirements. Be a core contributor to internal product development efforts, including: Developer platforms IaC module libraries Code modules and libraries CI/CD YAML templates Self-service tools and workflows SDLC processes and procedures Documentation Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 4-8 years of relevant work experience in Cloud infrastructure automation or software engineering. The ideal candidate will have experience in all or some of the following areas (the specific tools are provided as examples): Public cloud infrastructure internals and APIs (Azure, AWS) Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) Configuration Management (Ansible, SaltStack, Chef, Puppet) Scripting and application development (PowerShell, Python, Go, Bash) CI/CD pipelines (Azure Pipelines, Github Actions, Gitlab) Managing version control systems (VCS) at a technical level (Git internals, merge conflicts, etc.) Supporting and collaborating with multiple developers via VCS (Azure Repos, GitHub, Gitlab) Container management and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Nomad) Linux operating system management and security (NixOS, Debian, RedHat) Security frameworks, concepts, and tooling in Cloud-native environments (OWASP, NIST, PCI-DSS) Project planning and Agile/Lean development practices and tools (Jira, sprint planning, estimation) Strong bias for action and the ability to thrive in a fast paced, agile environment. Demonstrated ability to: Approach every situation with accountability and integrity. Quickly learn new technologies, methodologies, tools and processes. Comprehend complex and complicated projects. Deliver results within expected timelines with minimal oversight. Adapt to changes and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
