Position Description:
Job removal Date: This position will be removed on April 26th, 2024.
You will be located in Austin, TX, and will oversee key growth projects within the Austin service area for Texas Gas Service. You will have 3 years of experience in construction project management and be comfortable working with contractors and be customer-facing. This position will be filled at a level applicable to the candidate's experience and skills. You will work a hybrid schedule with some days in the office and some days working remotely. Site visits are expected for this position.
What You Will Do
Provide an intermediate level of full lifecycle management of natural gas construction projects. You will be responsible for requirements gathering, project scoping, applicable internal and external stakeholder coordination, design and construction scheduling, construction management, and financial analysis.
Support all aspects of natural gas construction projects from initiation through closure of service. This includes monitoring and communicating the project's deadlines, scope, budget and costs.
Develop scope, schedule and milestones for natural gas construction projects.
Develop, maintain, and improve design and construction project management policies and procedures.
Responsible for the development process, which includes reviewing construction plans, running economic evaluations, drafting contract documents, and negotiating gas installation agreements with developers as applicable.
Create communication plans for applicable all partners, including developers, engineers, plumbers, site superintendents, city permitting, permitting consultants, internal engineering staff, operations, resource management, right of way, and legal.
Monitor and track progress of natural gas construction projects. Responsible for status updates which includes providing updates to all partners.
Review and communicate scheduling data to ensure project consistency and optimization. Resolve problems and issues.
Develop and maintain relationships with applicable all partners.
Provide information and assistance applicable partners involved in the natural gas construction projects.
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Employee may perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
What You Will Need
Minimum Bachelor's Degree Construction management, engineering technology, business administration, other related field or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job-related experience
Knowledge of gas distribution system infrastructure design and materials, construction methods, and project durations.
Knowledge to interpret engineering construction plans, mechanical drawings, equipment specifications and rate schedules.
Experience with scheduling principles and practices
Knowledge or training related to:
Experience in use and function of project management software and office equipment including computers and applicable software.
Experience researching and composing reports, studies, cost analyses, contracts, and correspondence.
Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively.
Apply math, algebra, and statistics.
Read and write fluently in English.
Minimum Applicable driver's license for travel to meet with customers and attend different civic and community functions.
Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
Mobility to travel in and around office and outdoor environments and job sites.
Communicate and exchange information; conduct oral presentations.
