Position Overview:

The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for managing inventory for a dynamic 3PL operation including monitoring inventory levels, performing cycle counts, and auditing transactions to ensure that all materials are properly verified and reconciled. Duties also include miscellaneous warehouse activities to maintain inventory accuracy through proper processing of material receipts and issues.

Hours: 7:30 am - 4:30 pm

Pay Rate: $20/hr.

Essential Duties:

• Must have at least one year shipping or receiving experience
• Cycle-count products and non-conforming materials on a weekly basis per schedule
• Analyze variances between system and actual counts
• Work with Logistics Operations Manager and warehouse personnel to improve inventory accuracy
• Utilize web-based inventory system to process cycle counts, review on-hand inventory, and perform quarterly full physical inventory counts
• Ensure materials are in proper locations
• Open Gaylord containers to count items to verify quantity on hand
• Report discrepancies of over/under amounts and any damaged products to the manager
• Communicate and develop process enhancements as needed (performs root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and recommend process improvements to eliminate them)

Additional Responsibilities:

• Work with ISO Quality Management System team to perform internal audits
• Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed
• Maintain neat, clean, and orderly warehouse appearance
• Ability to work extended hours/overtime as needed as well as some weekends
• Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures and guidelines
• Conform to all quality and safety procedures
• Operate and be able to train on forklift, reach lift, order picker, and pallet jack

Education, Experience, and/or skills Required:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems
• An organized thought process with high attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate results, effective prioritization to meet scheduled deadlines, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proven time management skills with the ability to respond to time-critical issues and work overtime as needed to meet deadlines
• Excellent work ethic, ability to work self-directed and as a flexible team player
• Professional demeanor and the ability to represent the company with professionalism
• Ability to adapt to change in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Experience:

• Microsoft Office (Excel): 2 years
• Inventory Control: 2 years
• Warehouse Management System: 2 years26

Education:

• Associate Degree in related field or equivalent experience
