The Clinical Supervisor of Obstetrics is responsible for the management of patient care and personnel activities, to assist the Director of Obstetrics and New Family Services (OB/NFS). Assists with the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care of patients and nursing educational programs in the Obstetrics unit. Participates in nursing educational needs assessments and quality improvement activities. Assists with input for annual staff performance evaluations. Assists in monitoring and investigating Safety Risk Management Reports via the Safety Event Manager (SEM) as assigned by the Director and with updating, changing and implementing new policies and procedures by informing staff, educating staff, and ensuring competence within staff members’ scope of practice. Promotes and leads interdisciplinary rounding.
