Oliver Gospel Mission is Hiring a Development Assistant Near Columbia, SC

Job Title: Development Assistant

Team: Development

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Reports To: Director of Development

Direct Reports: None

Effective Date: March 2024

Position Summary

The Development Assistant is responsible for managing and coordinating the development of Oliver Gospel’s CRM records and donor data analysis. The are a supporting member of Oliver Gospel’s development team. They are responsible for providing administrative, clerical, and operational support. They need to have excellent organizational, communication and multi-tasking skills. They have the ability to work on their own or in a team environment. They can prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently.

Ability and desire to work in harmony with other Oliver Gospel employees

Be on time and ready to work at the assigned work location on every scheduled day of work

Due to sensitivity for potential impact upon Oliver Gospel’s Program Participants, the use of tobacco

and/or vaping products is not permitted during scheduled work hours or at any Oliver Gospel event

Valid South Carolina driver’s license

For the Development Assistant

Work experience in a related field.

Knowledge of PC-based software and relevant applications and office equipment

Working knowledge of CRM, volunteer, and donor database software

Experience in bulk mail processing.

Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to develop positive rapport with individuals while maintaining a strong sense of professionalism.

Must be flexible to cover duties assigned outside of a regular work schedule.

Position Responsibilities

  1. Process monetary donations and update donor files.
  2. Manage, analyze, and report monetary gifts and documentation to finance and supervisor.
  3. Ensure donation batches are accurate, organized, and processed daily.
  4. Travel to and from Post Offices to receive and deliver mail.
  5. Schedules check presentations, marketing, development calendars, and communicate schedule to staff.
  6. Maintain current job descriptions for administrative volunteer placements.
  7. Create, print, and process daily donor acknowledgements and other mailed communications.
  8. Assist in enhancing the customer experience of individuals contacting Oliver Gospel with questions, concerns, comments, or contributions.
  9. Manage all aspects of bulk mail processing and stationery supplies.
  10. Manage donor CRM data collection, automation, quality assurance, and data accountability.
  11. Coordinate projects and tasks for Development Director
  12. Answer all phone calls related to the Development Department
  13. Assist with special events as needed.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
