Corporate Controller- Columbia, SC

Work Location: Columbia, SC

Job Summary

The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company working closely with and reporting to the CFO of the company.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
• Produces periodic financial reports and reviews with CFO.
• Ensures that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner.
• Ensures that accounts receivable are collected promptly.
• Ensures that payroll is processed efficiently and in a timely manner.
• Works with external auditors and provides needed information for audits, including month end reports and overhead audit.
• Works with auditor and prepares information for the FAR audit.
• Collaborates with CFO to produce annual budget and forecasts.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Assists in managing accounting staff.
• Administers insurance policies.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient in Deltek Vision software.
• Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Excellent management and supervisory skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration required.
• Ten years or more of related experience required.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Able to travel as needed.
